Polyethersulfone (PES)

Characteristics

Material hydrophilic polyethersulfone.
High flow capacity.
Substantial reduction of time filtering.
Low level of excerpts.
Excellent mechanical strength.
High chemical compatibility
Sterilization in an autoclave at 121°C.
Not compatible with halogenated hydrocarbons, ketones, etc.
Stable in the pH 1­14 range.
Connecting entry: Female Luer lock.

Uses:

Filtration and sterilization of biological solutions, especially in the pharmaceutical industry.

For aqueous solutions. Allows use with most acids, a large number of alcohols, esters and oils.

Nylon

Characteristics

Excellent chemical resistance to aqueous solutions with pH ranging from 3 to 14 and especially the HPLC solvents, esters, bases and alcohols.
According to excerpts extremely low.
Autoclavable to 121°C.
Connecting entry: Female Luer lock.

Uses:

For aqueous solutions and HPLC. Filtration and sterilization of aqueous solutions, especially in the pharmaceutical industry, for HPLC solvents, alcohols, esters and bases.

PTFE

Characteristics

Hydrophobic material.
Does not absorb moisture.
It allows air and gas filtration without difficulty, even at low differential pressures. It has a broad chemical resistance compared to virtually all chemicals and aggressive solvents.
Average thickness of 65 μm to 0.22 m, reaching 100 μm for larger pores.
No extract with water.
Maximum operating temperature is 145°C.
Autoclavable to 121°C.
Connecting entry: Female Luer lock.

Uses:

Filtration air, gas, organic solvents and aggressive chemicals. Suitable for all kinds of venting and solutions for aggressive chemicals and vents. It is used mainly for air filtration and dry gases.

Fiberglass

Characteristics

Consist of borosilicate fibers of uniform size.
Thickness of fiber: about 0.55 mm.
Chemical compatibility fairly wide, resistant to organic solvents.
It tolerates temperatures up to 220°C.
Autoclavable to 121°C.
Connecting entry: Female Luer lock.

Uses:

Material used as a deep pre­filter that is placed before a membrane to prolong its life.
